Third Molar Extractions with IV Sedation in Durham, NC

Many patients prefer to have their third molars extracted with some sort of sedation. Moderate IV sedation is commonly recommended for the patients that are candidates for in office sedation. This gives patients predictable outcomes in regards to comfort and helps ensure a pleasant experience. Dr. Matt served as an Exodontist in the U.S. Navy for 2 years, after completing a one year residency that focused exclusively on oral surgery and sedation. The Navy’s Exodontia residency involved a rigorous anesthesia rotation at the Captain James A. Lovell FHCC, where Dr. Matt trained under multiple anesthesiologists and learned to administer various types of IV sedation.

Deep Sedation/ General Anesthesia in our office requires the approval of a Dental Anesthesiologist, and for them to be present throughout the case.
