Same Day Crown in Durham, NC

A “same day” crown is a custom definitive restoration made on-site for a patient. Our office uses a Fastmill.io made by Glidewell Dental Laboratories, this state of the art piece of equipment is the heart of the in office lab. Utilizing Glidewell’s in office lab solutions allows us to go from an intra-oral scan to a finished crown in about 1 hr. The end product is a milled monolithic sintered zirconia crown, this is considered a stronger and superior material when compared to newer 3D printed crowns.

  • There is no difference in cost.

  • Crowns can be made of many different materials. Our office uses zirconia for same day crowns. Zirconia is a tried and true material that is very esthetic and durable.

  • Usually pain and discomfort are minimal.

    Rarely the tooth may become painful afterwards, and a tooth ache could develop after getting a crown. Whenever decay is near the nerve of the tooth the chance of this complication occurring is higher.

    If this occurs you may need a root canal and you will need to call our office as soon as possible.

  • Usually minimal conscious sedation or nitrous oxide is enough to get through a crown procedure. However, we do offer IV sedation for this procedure.
