Office Manager

Having a great passion for working with others, Janice is the do all in the front office of the practice. She has been running the front desk since 1990, scheduling, filing insurance, and answering the phone. You will not find a more dedicated hard-working person who cares more for the patient’s well-being, and quality of their care. Her dedication to the office and the patients and her co-workers, her drive for perfection, and her friendly personality make Janice the consummate team member.

Dental Assistant/Front desk

Sandra is a lifelong Durham resident. She began dental assisting after completing her Bachelor’s at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and has been assisting for 39 years. Sandra’s gift is making people feel comfortable and at ease, and she has a true passion for taking care of her patients. She is a loyal employee and a patient advocate. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, college basketball and football, and NASCAR racing.

Registered Dental Hygienist

Sandi was born and raised in Hurdle Mills, NC. She received her Dental Hygiene degree from UNC Chapel Hill in 2009. Sandi resides in Timberlake with her husband, two daughters, and dog Simba. In her free time, you will find her spending time with her family and enjoying the warmer months at the lake. Sandi has worked at the same practice since graduating and enjoys the opportunity she is given with her patients to develop trust in the beginning that helps make the appointment more relaxing and enjoyable for her patients. She finds in return it makes for a lasting patient/provider relationship that she truly enjoys developing with each of her patients. She can’t wait to meet you!! 

Registered Dental Hygienist

After moving to Durham from Goldsboro, NC where she grew up in a military family, Michelle worked with Dr. Cecil as a dental assistant for two years before going back to school. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene in 1994. She rejoined the practice in 2005, and has been an integral part of the team since. Michelle is married and has two daughters.

Dental Assistant

Nancy is a Dental Assistant who has been working at Independence Park Dental Arts for almost two years. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University. She decided to pursue a career in dental assisting and aims to further her education to eventually become a provider herself. Nancy enjoys working out and traveling. Her favorite part of each workday is helping our patients and helping Dr. Britt with oral surgery.

Dental Assistant

Melissa grew up in Durham, and has been working at the practice for a few years. While she has been mostly running sterilization and meticulously maintaining the dental units in the rooms, she is now acting more chair-side in her capacities. Melissa is a people person and enjoys helping others and finding ways to brighten each person’s day. She always has a kindness to her smile, and has never met a stranger. Melissa enjoys spending time with her little sister Lillie, the rest of her family, and her cat Tink!
